astoria, or '08

I was born in portland, oregon and I live in brooklyn, ny but for the past month I have been living in astoria, oregon helping my parents as they grow older.

astoria isn't my hometown or my permanent address, but even after as short as a month I feel part of the community.

the oregon and washington coasts around the mouth of the columbia river are extremely beautiful and filled with history. I was lucky to be able to spent the mornings and early evenings (prime winter light) driving around and taking pictures for the better part of january 08. The area had a quite an affect on me.

Here is a collection of black and whites I took while I was there. I am currently headed back to ny. I won't be back to astoria oregon until summer. I already miss astoria.
