In Copenhagen, bicycles are used by locals and tourists.
Bicycle parking appears endless at the central train station in Copenhagen. Many bikes sport baskets and/or child seats to make them convenient for everyday errands and transportation.
Bicycles are an integral part of daily life in Copenhagen; over a third of workers are reputed to cycle to work, taking advantage of government investment in bike routes and bike parking facilities, and bicycles are regularly used for errands and recreation. Tourists can easily participate in this mode of transportation. From mid-April into November, two thousand City Bikes are available throughout the center of the city, free of charge. With a 20 DKK coin as a deposit, you can take a bike, use it, and return it to any one of the 110 city bike racks. Those who are too weary from sightseeing to pedal their own bike can relax in a bicycle rickshaw, which holds two or maybe three people. Or, if you are on foot, you can simply observe the creative use of bicycles in Copenhagen. We saw kids, flowers, groceries, and even an inflatable palm tree – all being transported on bicycles.
