No smoking, no eating and drinking and even no flamable goods are all understandable restrictions.

But 'No Durians', what the f***?

Everywhere on this planet you will find streetsigns. Simple graphic images that will point out a danger that is ahead or acts that are forbidden.

Most of the signs are very clear in meaning. Others are, sometimes due to alterations, open for multible interpretation.

One sign is industrially manufactured the other handmade.

But almost every sign tells us something about the place where it is put, about the culture of the people who have to interpret the signs.

THE capital of streetsigns must be Singapore. The city in which everything seems to be forbidden.
