Photo Essay: Traveling with Saru

The monkey thats been traveling the world, even before the AT&T monkey.

I've taken over 1,000 photographs of Saru in different places around the world. Which started off from a bored day at home. A roommate and I took pics of the monkey taking shots, performing surgery, watching tv, etc. I thought it would be funny to photograph the monkey at all the locations i would travel too. Now it's gotten so essential, i get yelled at by my friends if i leave him at home, which I've done on many occasions. I've been places where people have come up to me that have actually seen his Myspace page. He's had a good life, partly traveling the world, partly sleeping on top of his bookcase. Saru has been all over America, Canada, and also to Japan. He was really upset when he didn't get a check in the mail from that well known commercial now on tv. But that didnt get him down, hes still staying at it, still traveling. On several occasions so called friends of mine have tried to steal Saru because they feel some sort of weird attachment to him. I've had to buy these friends their own monkeys, that I've deemed Saru's friends.
