The Derby hat is as longstanding tradition at Churchill Downs. Just about everyone at the race will be wearing a spectacular hat, whether expensive and custom-designed or made at home with glue and some cleverness. Hats have played an important role in the history of horse racing for centuries and the wackiest and tackiest are making their way to race day in Kentucky. Check out some of these lovely designs.
