International contemporary dance festival in Vilnius, Lithuania, brings great acts that break the rules and have big attraction.
This international contemporary dance festival is being held already for 11 years in Vilnius, Lithuania at the beginning of May each year.
Indoors and outdoors, in the streets and on the stages – the New Baltic Dance festival is all about modern dance and art itself without the walls and rules. This international contemporary dance festival is being held already for 11 years in Vilnius, Lithuania at the beginning of May each year. This year’s festival is still coming, but you can check these pictures from last year’s performances. In the pictures you see a Swiss dance group “Da Motus” which had this superb performance right in the streets of Vilnius. The idea is simple – dancers move and make different movements in the real life, in the city, where the traffic is not stopped and people are passing by. Believe me, the faces in the public transport busses when they pass those yellow strangers were more than enough to say that this act did get everyone’s attention! 4 people, dressed like visitors from Mars move together, creating same bodypositions, movements and so on. They stand up near the building and do different movements, then they gather in the middle of the street while cars and buses are passing by and do those crazy movements again. And this is only an example of what you can see in this New Baltic Dance festival, each year, at the beginning of May, in Vilnius, Lithuania.
