The largest Halloween celebration in Hawaii

The Sheet Family

Some crazy family enjoying the Halloween party on Front Street in Lahaina.

Every year, for Halloween, a small town on Maui holds the largest Halloween celebration on the islands. Nicknamed the "Mardi Gras of the Pacific", over 25,000 people flock to Lahaina to party on Front Street in extravagant and unique costumes. Not one person can be found without a costume on. The festival begins with a parade and continues throughout the night with many tricks and lots of treats for both kids and adults. All the bars and restaurants are open and there are costume contests and other Halloween related events all over the street.

The costumes are the trademark for the event, so plan on something different and unusual, maybe handmade! The wilder the better. Also, plan on bringing candy to throw to people as you walk!

How fun! I would love to go to a celebration like this. I haven't celebrated Halloween in years, and I miss it.
