People with lousy feet still want to travel but might have a hard time keeping up. Toe Bandages were my favorite foot relief product
I have bad feet, darn it. I buy shoes very carefully and they still hurt when I wear them. I was really worried about going on my once in a lifetime trip and not being able to keep up or enjoy myself. No one wants to sit back at the hotel because his/her feet gave out. I searched the Dr. Scholl's aisles at drug stores, but I found this product at good ol' Walmart. These are tubes that fit over your toe to cushion it. You cut them to size, so you get quite a few toe socks from the package. They are lined with a sort of stockinette material, so they are actually stronger than they look, and since they can be washed, hold up quite a while, depending on how picky you are about their looking uglier and uglier. This is probably not the right technique, but I took a whole one, put it over my worst toe, and then folded the rest where I needed more padding the most. Voila! My feet were battered, for sure, but I could keep going. The pictures of my poor feet are after walking around the Roman Forum, up the Palatine Hill, and then over to the Coliseum where we walked around and around for another couple of hours. I made it and loved every minute. I had actually worn socks, and my feet still were that dirty. Never suspecting I would actually wish I had a picture with the toe bandages on, I had unfortunately already removed my socks and the toe bandages, but you get the idea. I am sitting on the low wall outside the Coliseum, and my feet are bathed, not in soap and water, but in the light of the waning day.
