Gijs’ travelogue

The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is a statue that sits on a rock in the Copenhagen harbour at Langelinie. This small and unimposing statue is a Copenhagen icon and a major tourist attraction.

La Sagrada Familia

This Roman Catholic cathedral in Barcelona is possibly the world's longest-running architectural construction project: It was under construction for the entirety of the 20th century, and has yet to be completed.

The cathedral, a Barcelona must-see, is rich in symbolism.

Museum of Modern Art

The MoMA accumulates and showcases one of the largest collections of modern and contemporary art in the world. Situated in the heart of midtown Manhattan, the museum was founded in 1929 and completed a renovation in 2004 that nearly doubled it's exhibition space.

MMK Frankfurt

The MMK in Frankfurt, Germany, has an excellent collection of modern art. I decided to have a closer look at some of the masterpieces.

Danish Design Center

Moved to its current location on HC Andersens Boulevard in January 2000, the DDC is a relatively compact museum dedicated contemporary Danish design. The rotating exhibits span industrial design, graphic design, and artistic displays, all set in a stylish building in central Copenhagen.
