Vintage Chicago

Vintage Chicago

By climbing aboard an industrial barge docked in the Chicago river (which probably would have gotten me arrested were I caught) I was able to get below street level for this shot. This allowed me to crop out all traces of modern cars, people in modern dress, etc. Though taken in 2005, the image captures Chicago as it was more than 75 years ago.

From left to right: The Wrigley Building (1922), the Hotel Intercontinental (known in 1927 as the Medinah Athletic Club), and the Tribune Tower (1925).

Taken with an Agfa Cadet box camera manufactured in the late 30's.
