Late morning provided interesting shadows in the Colorado National Monument.
While the water is still running a bit under the ice, the surface is pretty much frozen but for a few pools.
Wind was howling in the canyon today bringing and icy cold from the west. Great blue sky behind some rock formations that in warmer weather would have climbers going up the face of these walls.
Just off highway 103 near the Mt. Evan Wilderness I got this shot after the first snow.
Reflection into Echo Lake prior to freeze.
From road leading to Chicago Lakes campground.
Fog was coming up through the valley to cover the mountain peaks.
This stand of aspen attracted my attention due to the fog and the vibrancy of the color showing through. When printed on matte paper it looks like a painting.
Taken just off the highway in the Mt. Evans Wilderness in September of 2007.
Klaus Girk has been a member since 10 November 2007 and goes by Fred.
Currently in Westminster, CO.
I am retired but do a lot of volunteer work for Eldorado Canyon State Park and the Birds of Prey Foundation here in Colorado. I enjoy fishing, photography, reading and visiting with old friends as well as making new ones. I also enjoy pyrography which is the art of woodburning. With this I make images of animals and people and sometimes add a small battery operated clock.
