Jesse’s travelogue

Ferry Home

Ferry Home

The ferry ride from Provincetown, MA to Boston, MA is relaxing and beautiful. On our trip home, a whale surfaced in front of my son. The boats allow quiet for those seeking it or music and social interaction for others. A gorgeous trip regardless of how you choose to spend the time.

14,000 ft alone with his thoughts

14,000 ft alone with his thoughts

Taken of a man in prayer at the Jbel Toubkal summit in Morocco. There is only the sound of the wind at the top with incredible views on all sides. Marrakesh is on one side with the desert on the other. Even the graffiti at 14,000ft is interesting. Toubkal is an easy trek, especially during spring months. It is only 2 hours from Marrakesh with transport easily arranged.

Celebration Key West

Celebration Key West

The cruise ship pulled into the harbor one morning after a hopping night on Commercial Street. The photo feels vintage but Key West is anything but!

In the Souks

In the Souks

Wandering Marrakesh on my first day in Morocco was an incredible sensory overload. Donkeys, kids running, old men leaving the mosque, women in veils on motorbikes - it was all there to be seen and dodged.

This was one of the quieter areas in the souks. A place where I could stroll taking photographs as unobtrusively as possible.

From atop Toubkal

From atop Toubkal

The view from the Toubkal summit is spectacular. This side of the peak looks out over the high atlas and to the Sahara desert while behind me were the pink walls of Marrakesh. Our Berber guides braved the overhanging rocks for a rest while the rest of us stayed back and admired the view.

In the Gite

In the Gite

Lemon yellow walls, plants and simple but elegant furnishings could be found throughout the gite that I stayed in after climbing Toubkal in Morocco. The light in the morning was as you see it here.

I am a guy just returning from 3 weeks in Ireland, the UK and Morocco. 3 different places, and 3 very different sets of photographs. Back in the states, I'm starting to explore street photography in addition to my usual macro and running related work.
