Once caught and gutted octopus are beaten (usually against the quayside) to tenderise the meat, then hung in the sun for a few hours prior to cooking.
Kalymnian architecture
Tucked away in the back streets I found a this wonderful gateway and staircase.
Even on Kalymnos people need to sit down, taken outside a taverna where spring cleaning was underway.
The older generation on Kalymnos swim in the early morning for exercise. I saw this lady walk out to her swim and noticed the light start to increase. After setting up the camera for fast bracket, I waited for her to return. The light illuminated her headscarf beautifully.
