On my last night in Yodakeng, my friends and hosts took me into their fields to hunt rat. It was a long night where cellphone culture, the local whiskey and campfire talk intersected over a very local meal. Here Danoi poses with our freshly killed dinner and his muzzle loading shotgun.

Occasionally, since coming back to the States, I get cravings for one of these little guys.

Dustin Schuler's 1989 sculpture, featuring eight cars impaled on a huge pole, is fittingly displayed in the parking lot of Cermak Plaza in Berwyn Illinois. It's a road trip must-see destination if you're in the Chicago area, best seen while in the afterglow from eating a pair of Chicago-style hot dogs.

Currently it is threatened by development, and may be moved, or even destroyed.

The collection of artifacts at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco is something I keep coming back to over and over again. After seeing various Samurai armors at museums throughout the US, I'm convinced that this may be the most beautiful example in North America.
