Pick up your seafood here at the counter. Don't be afraid to ask for extra butter or tartar sauce. Woodman's has great customer service.
In the summer when it's busy people are lined up all along Rt. 133. You could take a break under this giant lobster as you wait for your table. Lovely view of the Essex River from these benches.
If you are looking for a nice day out go to Essex, MA and visit the antique shops. Then stop for a meal at Woodman's. The have great fried seafood and perfect onion rings to compliment them. Or in season pick your own lobster for a steamed lobster dinner.
Clam shell sign seen as you drive in Woodman's parking lot.
The Inn is on King Street in Rockport, a short walk from the ocean. It is very reasonably priced. Stay for breakfast, you won't want to miss Tobey's excellent scones. I love this place I visit at least twice a year.
All the beds have lovely quilts on them. The rooms are furnished in classic furniture. Many rooms have their own bath and a few share a bath.
Tobey does a wonderful job decorating for the seasons. The little details around the Inn make the place warm and inviting. The Leaves are all printed with fall activities.
