This photo from Longport, New Jersey brings back every happy memory of the many summers I spent with my kids at the Jersey shore.
It was a place where we could disappear, spending perhaps a whole day on whimsical pursuits such as fishing hermit crabs out of the bay, interrupted by nothing but the setting sun.
On Christmas morning with Lindblad Expeditions, we took a zodiac raft to the tiny little island of Granita de Oro ("little grain of gold", near Coiba Island off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica), where we spent the day just lying low and snorkeling.
Here Emanuel the zodiac raft driver waves on his way back.
