Man on Tears while Celebrating Kosovos Independence
An old Albanian man, wounded (during the war), celebrating with tears of joy for this long waited day; the day of Kosova’s Independence.
He is holding a picture from a magazine, where Dr. Ibrahim Rugova (1944 – 2006) shakes hands with the former US President Bill Clinton. On the other hand, he used his cane (walking stick) to hold up his national flag.
He lost three brothers during the war in 1999 and three weeks ago another brother of his died. He wishes his brothers were with him on this big day for his country.

Currently in Prishtina.
I am Agon Syla, born in Prishtina, Republic of Kosovo in 1987. I currently am a student at the American University in Kosovo, a sister school of the Rochester Institute of Technology, studying Media Production and Management as a major and Public Policy as a minor. I also have a full time job as a Civil Society Organisations Database Coordinator at the Kosovar Civil Society Foundation. The remaining of my time I dedicate it to photography, partying, sleeping, and traveling.
