A tribute to Tillie, that once adorned the now torn down Palace Amusement is on the marquee of the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The bar is now closed. It will eventually fall to the renewal project underway. However, one of the original Tillies was saved from the wall and is expected to be incorporated into a new Palace.
The Wonder Bar closed its doors for the last time in September 2006. As new construction takes place in the area, it stands as a reminder of the past.
This is a view outside the Asbury Park Convention Center off of the
Boardwalk. As work is done to revitalize this area, the promise of the future is still years away.
