Looking west toward the Chrysler Building after sunrise... The MetLife Building (formerly the PanAm Building) is seen on the right.

Shipwreck Grill - Facing Out

Shipwreck Grill - Facing Out

Fine dining at the Jersey Shore to be found at the Shipwreck Grill in Brielle, New Jersey. Don't miss the desserts... They are the best!

Shipwreck Grill

Shipwreck Grill

The Shipwreck Grill offers patrons fine dining off of Barnegat Bay. Just off of Route 35 in Brielle, New Jersey, the menu offers an incredible array of seafood specialities (but don't worry, there are specials for the land lubbers among us...). Poached lobster, seared chilean sea bass, pistachio crusted grouper, grilled ribeye... the list goes on.

But save room for dessert! REALLY - Not kidding... It's some of the most creative and well done endings to a meal this reviewer has ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Caramelized Apple Tarte Tatin with Vanilla Ice Cream was my favorite.

Saltsman's Hotel has taxidermy as part of the decor... While wood bark won't be on the menu, milkweed will be in season (in the spring) and it's great!

The Bar at Saltsman's

The Bar at Saltsman's

Nothing quite like a handcrafted libation at this bar in the Saltsman Hotel (circa 1889) in Upstate New York. Good chance to get a half dollar as part of your change...

Sea Wall - Sea Bright

Sea Wall - Sea Bright

The northern part of Sea Bright is essentially a narrow strip of land with Route 36 (Ocean Avenue) running through it's middle. Buildings near the bay are on one side with the beach and Atlantic Ocean on the other side. However to get to the beach visitors will need to go over the sea wall using one of the stairways marked for public access. The wall protects the dwellings from the weather that invariably comes through driving higher tides. This makes for quite a drive through town toward Sandy Hook.
