This is a view of Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure as the sun was beginning to set. This floorless coaster was built in 1999.
This is a view of Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure. It is a floorless coaster built in 1999. In this image the riders in the back our upside down and the riders in front are facing right toward the ground. Essentially, this was shot straight up...
El Toro is the predominant coaster in this photo. Looming in the distance is Kingda Ka, while the Runaway Mine Train is on the right... If you look very closely at the base of Kinda Ka, you can also see the top of Rolling Thunder, a roller coaster that was erected (1979) shortly after the opening of Great Adventure (1974). It is quite a collection of coasters that can be found throughout Six Flags Great Adventure.
Riders hit a barrel roll on Superman: The Ride under the shadow of Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure.
This is a view of Kingda Ka from the parking lot at Great Adventure. To get a sense of the scale of this coaster, the world's tallest wooden roller coaster - El Toro - can be seen on the right.
This is the fountain in the main square of Six Flags Great Adventure. In front of the fountain, guests can meet with characters for photo ops...
Beneath the sun and clouds is a view of the Big Wheel (aka Giant Wheel) in Six Flags Great Adventure. At the time of the park's opening, this was the largest structure in the park and the largest ferris wheel in the world.

While the "older kids" are off seeking thrill rides at Great Adventure, there are enclaves for the younger kids among us. They include the Wiggles World, Looney Tunes Seaport and Bugs Bunny National Park. "Have a Wiggly Day!" ;-)
A full day of thrill seeking calls for something filling... You can find classic park fare at the Character Cafe where you may find an occassional Looney Tunes character. This building is one of the originals from the opening in 1974 - although at the time it was know as the "Yum Yum Palace!" (I guess our sensibilities are a bit different today when it come to names...)
Above the Cafe is the Sky Ride... This is the original cable ride from the 1964-1965 World's Fair in New York City. It's a great place to take in all the sites and decide where to land next.
