The Bluecoat is the oldest building in Liverpool city centre, built c.1717 in the Queen Anne style to house a school for poor children. It's been redeveloped and reopened in 2008 (Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture) as an arts centre.

On a recent road trip, my girlfriend and I stopped to camp at Balmorhea State Park in West Texas. We knew little about the park, only that it was on our way to New Mexico and had a funny name.

On a recent trip to Dominica we decided to check out the island's "most visited tourist attraction", the Emerald Pool within Morne Trois Pitons National Park. In spite of all the visitors, I was surprised to see how pretty this place is.
