Louvre, 9 April 2008. Just outside the Mona Lisa gallery there is an amazingly high and ornately decorated chamber. The exquisite ceiling must be twenty five metres up.
Visitors enter, gasp, and crane their necks to get the full appreciation.
I sat down on a bench to rest my weary feet, and tried to capture the moment. Poor lighting, long zoom, handheld camera, but there's something about this lady, pausing for a second while the tourists hurry past to see the Mona Lisa next door, that echoes my own feelings of awe and admiration for the grand gallery.
