I drive by this old dock, what's left of it from hurricanes and high winds, everyday to and from work. It is one of my favorite places to visit which allows me to escape from the daily routine. I was starting to shoot storms and this is one of my favorites. I love the color contrasts of the blues, grays, golds and green. On the horizon is the gulf of Mexico. I am standing on the side of a 2 lane road with stilt homes behind me. This is Aripeka, Florida by Hernando Beach. Enjoy it, I do!
Walking through the Immigration Museum on Ellis Island was very errie, you could feel the presence of the people that had traveled through there. The door and windows look out to New York city. One could only imagine what went through their minds waiting to be approved by a doctor and allowed to stay in their newfound freedom land. Most were only watched walking up the stairs and their health was decided on how well they could do that. If they tired too easily, the doctors would not allow them to stay and send them back to their country.

I love taking pictures. I try to capture the moment or expression or the beauty of what I see. I love to shoot nature I think the most. Sunsets and beaches, anything outdoors are my favorite. I also love to take photos of my family, especially my grandchildren. I've always been into taking pictures or filming over the last 20+ years but never taken any classes to perfect my technique or "eye". Viewing other's work has given me a lot of enjoyment and hopefully more skill. I work with cancer...
