Rafael Núñez Contreras is a shepherd from Aranzazu, a mostly abandoned town in Zacatecas, México.
I have him described as a "roadside attraction" because that's how we met. I was driving from Mazapíl to Concepción del Oro and had to stop my car in the middle of the road while I waited for his goats and sheep to move. He struck up a conversation with me when I got out of my car.
