The bay of Zihuatanejo seen in the early morning light from the deck of our cruise ship, which was anchored in the bay.
Tupiza is a beautiful town in the south of Bolivia, known as ´la joya de Bolivia´(the jewel of Bolivia). On this day the streets were full of schoolkids playing sports as part of day of nationwide protests organised by Bolivian President Evo Morales against the FIFA altitude ban (FIFA banned international matches from being played at an altitude above 2500 metres, out of concerns for the health of the players). Tupiza is a little over 2900 metres above sea level. Evo Morales wants to prove that it´s possible to play professional football at high altitudes, and has organised a series of demonstrations, culminating in a bizarre 15 minute football match played at an altitude of 6000 metres. The children went crazy when they saw me with a camera, and surrounded me, shouting at me to take their photo, following me wherever I went, until a teacher came and restored order.
Puerto Chivica is a small village on the edge of the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. I liked the ancient church towers and simple adobe houses.
The breathtaking ancient city of the Incas. This is the view after the early morning fog cleared. An hour earlier I couldn't see any of this
I came across this old Ford while walking around the Alaskan town of Ketchikan. I immediately knew it would make a great black and white photo. Just look at the contrast of the white car against the dark background. Beautiful!
The Salar de Uyuni is the world's largest salt flat. I took this photo from the Isla del Pescado, an 'island' that rises from the salt with spectacular views to the distant mountains.
The village of Iruya is high in the Andes, a 4 hour bus trip from Humahuaca.
These enormous boulders are near the town of Tandil in Argentina.
Last autumn I stayed in New York City and wandered around Central Park photographing the fall colours. This is one of my favourites.
I took this photo last autumn in New York City's Central Park. There's a famous black and white photo I've seen in books many times from a similar location. It intrigued me and I wanted to see the ice rink and photography it for myself.
