Ha! Can someone please tell me what Fun Game is? Maybe the sign should have read, "Fun and Games?" Either way, this is a great sign and I really enjoy the desaturated colors beside bright colors all along the boardwalk.

My favorite of all the old signs and arcades on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach. Franks Fun Center, with its "old time" choo choo train. My boyfriend, who grew up here, played in this arcade for much of his childhood. Growing up in a seaside resort town, he would find change under the boardwalk and play arcade games all day long. Again, I like the emptiness you feel in this image. A place that should be flooded with children is empty and dark. This was the only arcade that was open, you can see one figure inside.

Kohr's arcade still showing the signs of old times. What I loved the most about the boardwalk arcades, shops, and rides at Point Pleasant Beach were how simple the signs were and how no one changed the look of these places. They have remained the same over time. I appreciate things like this. The single red trash can gives a deserted feeling to the image as well. Its evident that I am the only one on the boardwalk that day.

Another great, old sign at the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. The Tornado is a kiddie ride, but no kiddies were on this ride today. It was a frigid 20 degrees in December. The rainbow was a lovely surprise I discovered when I got home and looked at all my images from that morning.

Gift Shop uploaded on 21 March 2008

I just fell in love with this adorable, dated Gift Shop sign on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. This shop is closed for the season, as I was there in December 2006. I enjoy the contrasts between the lines of the roof and the blue shingles to the left. Also the umbrella on the sign is super cute!

A very bright and neon colored Fun House on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. There will be no kiddies running through this today, as I was there in the off season in December 2007.

One of the many arcades along Point Pleasant's boardwalk. I love the colorful light bulbs along the top. Point Pleasant Bleach seems to be stuck in back in time.
