For anyone who's ever turned up their nose at the idea of hugging a tree, the smell of a ponderosa pine might tempt you to reconsider. As if these majestic specimens of treedom didn't already have enough going for them - they've been known to achieve heights of over 200 feet - their aroma brings to mind something along the lines of a butterscotch sundae. So get in there and squeeze.
This particular pinus ponderosa was embraced in Cranbrook, British Columbia.

I'm a south coast Massachusetts girl who likes to ramble. Since graduating from Bucknell University in 2007, I've lived in five states and one Canadian province. I'm happiest when I'm having adventures and writing them down. My tally of continents stands at three right now (North America, Europe, and Africa), but I hope to make it four when I head to Peru this coming winter.
