A brief stop off of Alaska's Highway One brought us to one of the most amazing natural places I have ever seen. Matanuska Glacier is hands down the closest thing to Superman's lair on planet Krypton that you will find on Earth.
Alaska Highway travelers entering the Yukon Territory from the south are greeted by this maze-like roadside display of signs from all corners of the globe. Started by a homesick U.S. Army engineer during World War II, the Sign Post Forest has grown to include over 10,000 signs. Visitors are welcomed to contribute to this ever-growing monument to the open road.

I am an itinerant exploraholic who delights in seeing new places and meeting people from all walks of life. I travel to work, I work to travel, I like taking the time to get to know a place before moving on to the next one.
Highlights from the past year include spending my college graduation day eating shellfish on the Island of Chiloe, stepping in last-minute on the drums for a Yup'ik Indian Funk Band on the Kenai Peninsula, and sleeping in a cave during a lightening storm in the Sonoran.
