Everyone gets equal billing in Salvador da Bahia, where the Carnival's not a competition and Brazil's mixed heritage shines brighter than glitter.

Currently in Barranquilla.
I'm an English professor and aspiring novelist (with a pretentious name), originally from the “Bold New City of the South,” Jacksonville, Florida. My passions are, obviously, travel and writing, as well as photography, weightlifting, and electronic music. I've lived in Miami, Santo Domingo, Washington DC, Bogotá, and now Barranquilla, but I'm also cursed with a terminal case of acute Brazilitis. One day, I fear, I shall succumb.
