Reindeer goulash proved a hit during our two weeks spent travelling around Lapland.
At this small roadside stop a delicious plate of warming reindeer goulash or Poronkarystis, could be had for only five euros! And there are those who say Finland is expensive! This student was spending his summer holidays serving up the reindeer goulash to passing motorists.
Having so recently mastered walking there was no stopping our 18 month old who was not only determined NEVER to get in the backpack child carrier again but also refused to relinquish control of the map.

Three of our favourites from a two week trip to Lapland. Non-alcoholic beer, (suprisingly refreshing!), lemon cookies (yum yum!) and Swedish porridge. (Best served with a sauce made from fresh berries)

A typical Dutch grill. Meat, lots of cheese and bread and pices of mushroom, more meat and some veggies to grill one by one on a central table hotplate. A very similar concept to a fondue!
