A newly hatched hawksbill sea turtle starts heading for home.
The hawksbill sea turtle is one of five species of sea turtles found in Bacuit Bay in El Nido, Palawan, Philippines. It can be identified by the serrated edge of the carapace and the hooked jaw that resembles a hawk's bill. It is the most endangered sea turtle and is the source of "tortoiseshell", which is used in making sunglasses, hair ornaments, and guitar picks.

El Nido in Palawan, Philippines isn't your typical work place.
7 Commandos is one of the numerous beaches you can visit during your stay in El Nido, Palawan, Philippines. Just hire a boat for the day and it can either wait for you or drop you off and come back later. Lunch can be included in the package price.
The limestone cliffs lord over El Nido, including this relatively large outrigger boat.
Relatively speaking, the speedboat is the fastest way of getting around the islands. Though Miniloc Island looks so close when viewed from Lagen, the trip via speedboat still takes 15 minutes.

Tourists wanting to get a taste of the sand, sea, and seafood of a "small fishing town" may need to have a few things cleared up.
In my opinion, the best restaurant in El Nido Town. A word to the hungry: drop by to pre-order your meal. Otherwise, you're in for an hour-long (or more!) wait for their classic mackerel with lemon butter sauce even if you're the only ones there.
This is Calle Real, one of El Nido Town's main streets. The definition of a "main street" here is a street wide enough for two tricycles to pass side by side with ample clearance.
The limestone cliffs overshadow the Water Cottages of Lagen Island Resort, El Nido, Palawan, Philippines.
The Water Cottages are perfect for couples, as they provide privacy, peace and quiet, and an unobstructed view of Bacuit Bay.
This little speck of land is Pinagbuyutan, easily one of the most recognizable islands in Bacuit Bay, El Nido, Palawan. It has a small beach on the east side, making it a great hiding place for outrigger boats when the southwest monsoon acts up. It's also known as "Ellis Island" by virtue of being owned by Mr. Ellis Lim, a local businessman who made his (very large) fortune in boats and groceries.
