The Sri Venkateswara mat factory outside of Salem, Tamil Nadu is a place not many get to see. The factory provides mats to temples and homes all throughout India.

Many miles from the nearest road, we met this woman from the Red Dao tribe. She was carrying building supplies gathered from the forest.

This man (87 years old), resides with his wife in the jailoo near my boss's summer yurt. He and his wife still care for livestock as they have for all their lives.
