Male horses go for about $1000, depending on their age. Female horses cost more, as they can provide foals and milk for kumis, the national drink.

The building on the left houses the Altyn Arashan Hotel. It's more like a hostel than a hotel: several beds together in a room with shared facilities. Basic but comfortable. If that's not your style, camping on the grounds is allowed.
The caretakers of Altyn Arashan live in this quaint little cottage in the valley.
