The ancient city ramparts once ran all the way to the walls of the Golden Gates, and the only way into the city was through the Gates. Now only a small segment of the ramparts remains, and the ramparts no longer touch the Gates.
The Golden Gates sit in the center of Bolshaya Moscovskaya, the main street running trough downtown Vladimir.

The red Azerbaijani wine at Shesh Besh is some of the most delicious wine I have ever tasted. When you order it by the pitcher, you're given the opportunity to roll dice... if you get a five and a six (shesh and besh in Arabic), your next pitcher of wine is free.
