Vsekhsvyatsky Cathedral

Located just up the hill from downtown Tula, Vsekhsvyatsky Cathedral is worth seeing - as is its accompanying cemetery.

Downtown Tula

The historic city of Tula was founded in the 14th century. The downtown (or "center") is a pleasant place for a stroll.

Tula Kremlin

Despite the Western view that "kremlin" is a word solely associated with Moscow, the word translates as fortresss. Centuries ago, all Russian cities had a central, walled kremlin.

Yasnaya Polyana

Yasnaya Polyana, located near the Russian city of Tula, was the estate of author Leo Tolstoy. The estate grounds hold numerous parks, houses - including Tolstoy's - and Tolstoy's grave.

Murom

This small, historic city, founded in the 9th century on Russia's Golden Ring, is located approximately 300km east of Moscow on the Oka River.

Mangudang Park

Mangudang Park is located near the bank of Daegu's Geumho River, and is located a short walk south of the duck-boat park. The central feature of the park is a statue of General Kwak Jae Woo, who successfully led the Koreans in battle against the Japanese in 1592.

Museum Q

On the road to Gyeong Ju's famed Bulguk Temple, you will pass Museum Q. It's easy to spot, as it has two life-sized and incredibly life-like elephants on its front lawn.

Bulguk Temple (Bulguksa)

The Bulguk Temple (Bulguksa) is a Buddhist temple which was founded in 528AD, although it suffered much damage over the centuries during various wars and occupations. Restoration of the temple was completed in the 1970s, and it is one of the most beautiful - and most popular - temples to visit in South Korea.

Song-Kul Lake

Beautiful lake surrounded by pasture land. In the summer, the countryside is dotted with yurt camps where the herders live.
