The words "punk rock bakery" aren't usually strung together, but that's what Bleeding Heart Organic Bakery is. Started by Valentin and Michelle Garcia in 2003 through a shared love of baking and punk rock, Bleeding Heart is easy to find near the corner of Belmont and Damen Avenues.

Many people don't know about this hidden field in Golden Gate because they don't usually make it this far into the park. Located at 47th Ave and Fulton, there are about 6 targets for you to pretend you are Legolas from Lord of the Rings.
Lucky Ju Ju is a pinball arcade full of vintage pinball machines that have been meticulously restored. It's located in an old hair salon; $10 gets you admission, the machines themselves are free.
The Heartland is a warm and homey bohemian oasis in the Rogers Park neighborhood, and makes for a great hangout. Especially popular with the weekend breakfast crowd, it's still lively most nights due to frequent live performances of music and spoken word.

I am not sure of how to travel; when I go somewhere new, I usually do a bit of aimless wandering to figure out what it's like to be a local, hang out in the neighborhood where I'm staying, maybe visit a couple of interesting locales I read about or had recommended. Once I'm comfortable there, then I can play tourist.
