In the layers of sedimentation we ripped through on this excavation, we found lots of clam, mussel and other sea creatures' fossils. This makes the soil great for producing certain red wines - makes drinking sonoma red much more enjoyable having had this experience...
On the excavation for this project, this vertical cut revealed layers of Bay Uplift soils - this is about a million years of 'work'...

The crows (seen just below and just right of center)stayed in the limbs while these bells rang out for 15 minutes - there where many crows in that tree and the air was filled with amazing resonance that deadened all other sounds. It was a "perfect" 15 minutes - and there is no way to show that in a single frame...i took about 30 - each just with subtle difference from the next
