This beautiful public garden sits in the Santa Ynez mountains above the Santa Barbara Mission. A tour of the grounds includes the dam and irrigation system that was built in the early 1800's to support the mission.
La SuperRica is an outstanding taco shack at the corner of Milpas and Alphonse in downtown Santa Barbara. You'll know this small place by the El Camino Real bell standing out front and the long line out the door. As you wait in the line and get closer to the counter the smell of fresh cooked tortillas, grilled meat and chiles begins to waft toward you. Sure, it's a long wait but you don't see many people complaining once they have their plate in front of them!
This is the lobby of the office for the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
This man was kind enough to let my friend and me into an office building in downtown DC after hours so I could take some pictures.
A lovely place to visit near Malibu on the Pacific Coast Highway
This is the number one thing I love to find in a hotel room!
The Getty Villa is modeled after the Villa dei Papiri, a Roman country house buried by the Mt. Vesuvius eruption in AD 79. Getty brought his vision of what it may have looked like to life along Pacific Coast Highway in Southern California. This section, the outer peristyle, features this this amazing reflecting pool. The entire villa is designed around fountains, gardens and art and was recently reopened to the public.

I am director of a nonprofit that works on democracy and technology issues, which leads me to travel to interesting places, mostly in the U.S. I'm a 5th generation Californian and enjoy exploring the historic West.
