The Art Deco-era Hotel De Anza opened in 1931. For many years, this was San Jose's only luxury hotel with clients including Eleanor Roosevelt, Jack Dempsey and film stars like Susan Hayward and Paulette Goddard.
Built in 1900, the former Torino Hotel is now home to Henry's Hi-Life Restaurant. In business for over forty-years, Henry's serves white oak-fired barbecue including chicken, baby back and spare ribs, porterhouse or New York steaks.
The historic Beach Chalet houses the Golden Gate Park Visitor Center. Designed by Willis Jefferson Polk in 1924 (built in 1925), the murals within the Visitor Center were commissioned by the government's Work Progress Administration (WPA) in 1936.
