Montezuma Castle National Monument

Montezuma Castle National Monument

This is the entrance to the Visitor Center and museum. You pay your $5 fee, can get your national parks passport stamped, buy something from the gift shop or tour the small museum. I had to leave my dog in the car for this brief part, decided to skip the museum for that reason, but it looked very interesting.

Cave Homes Inside Montezuma Well

Cave Homes Inside Montezuma Well

These cave home ruins are located down inside the Well's trails. They are excellent preserved and you can get pretty close. They are just one of the great things you can see at the Well site, and if your dog is with you, they can do it too!

Dog Friendly Patio at Grandma Tina's in Kanab

Dog Friendly Patio at Grandma Tina's in Kanab

My dog Kita and I had the ultimate pleasure of dining at Grandma Tina's Cafe our last night in Kanab, Utah. It was a great experience for both of us. The manager brought Kita a huge bucket of water and a plate of pork chop bones, which as you can see, she devoured. This is the only picture I have of our wonderful experience, I wish I had gotten more, but I was too busy taking in the atmosphere, enjoying the excellent service, and eating!

Montezuma Well Stream

Montezuma Well Stream

Once you have hiked down to the base of the Montezuma Well National Monument site, you can walk right up against the streams and if you're lucky, the streams will cross your path and you get your feet wet literally. The waters are gorgeous blue and green colors.

Montezuma Well

Montezuma Well

From the top part of the rim of Montezuma Well, you can see the beautry of the water source itself and the areas around it. The greatest part is the reflection from the well's walls into the water itself. You can also hike down to the base of the well where streams of water cross the trail.

Just a few miles up the road from the Castle site, is the well site. The well is still functioning today as a water source. There are short hikes available around this site, including down into the well site. The site is free and is dog friendly.

Church in Assisi

Church in Assisi

The hillside town of Assisi is home to the Basilica de San Francesco, a church named for St. Francis. It's definitely one of the beauties you see across Europe and Italy in particular. It was very hot on this day and we were all wearing shorts, but we knew that in order to enter the church, we had to cover our shoulders and our legs, so we brought other clothing with us.

Street Life Assisi

Street Life Assisi

In the quaint hillside town of Assisi, tourists and others alike sit outside and enjoy the local flavor, just near a town square and fountain. Assisi is located in the Umbrian region of Italy and had great food, shops and sights for anyone to enjoy. The locals are nice and love to tell you stories and talk about their town.
