Wrigley Field in the Afternoon

Wrigley Field in the Afternoon

I was attending my first Cubs game on a weekday afternoon in August while in town for a wedding. The scoreboard is still changed manually by a person inside the scoreboard. The entire stadium was packed on workday, and one of the most unique features are the bleachers located on the top of buidlings surrounding the park.

Wrigley Field

Wrigley Field

Wrigley Field, Home of the Chicago Cubs, is one of America's famous landmarks, particularly when it comes to America's favorite pasttime of baseball. It's still unique in one of the few ballparks without a big screen to show replays and a scoreboard still operated by a human manually. And they wouldn't have it any other way!

This is the view from inside the University Club on the corner of Michigan and Monroe overlooking Millennium Park, which is a mix of landscape design, architecture, and sculpture.

Lincoln Park Zoo

Lincoln Park Zoo

The Lincoln Park Zoo is the nation's oldest zoo in the heart of Lincoln Park in Chicago. While the zoo is smaller than most traditional ones, it is very intimate and pleasant and the animals live peacefully right in the heart of one of the nation's busiest cities.

Orange Peaks of Sedona

Orange Peaks of Sedona

When deciding to take a picture of this peak in Sedona, I was struck by the fact that the building in the foreground of the shot matched the rock formations in color. I think that's what added to the beauty of the town and the shot for me, the style of the buildings and the colors were a perfect fit with the natural beauty that has been there long before the buildings ever were. And of course, it helped that the natural blue of the sky with the clouds rolling over added to the ambience.

Peaks of Sedona

The beauty of the town of Sedona and the natural wonders that set the backdrop really did put me on a natural high. Although I consider myself a city person, how could you not marvel at the beauty that makes up this town? I didn't need the tourist stop destinations, art galleries or shops in Sedona- in fact, I didn't even see any of them. I just wanted to capture the natural beauty around me.

A Store in Sedona

A Store in Sedona

On a stop in Sedona on the way to Phoenix, the overwhelming beauty of the town struck a chord in me. This store/cafe was set against the beautiful backdrop of the rock structures that are Sedona. In fact, I HAD to stop at the store because I was already out of film and wanted to go back to take more pictures along the roadside I had already been down.

The Mecca of All Service Stops

The Mecca of All Service Stops

Travelling on the A-2 Autobahn in Austria from Italy on the way to Vienna, we made a stop at this colorful and cute house, which is actually a service stop including petrol, food and other amenities. As our tour guide called it, it is the “Mecca of All Service Stops” and that is because unlike a typical America service stop where all you can get to eat is fast food and junk food, this service stop had a full buffet with all the food you could imagine, and the desserts that Austria is famous for. The scenery was fantastic, too, with this service stop being surrounded by green trees and the mountains in the distance.

A Hot Dog in Rome

A Hot Dog in Rome

With all the beautiful and historical sights to see in Rome, there was one picture worthy moment that caught my eye. The tradition while at the Trevi Fountain is to throw a coin over your left shoulder and it means you will return to Rome again. Well, while making that wish, I took this picture of this Collie dog in the fountain. On what was a very hot day, many of us were envious that the dog was able to do what we would have been arrested for—I knew that if my wish came true to return to Rome one day, that I would most likely never see this sight again.

I am an event planner at a nonprofit organization, but my first true love was writing. I have a journalism degree from the University of Colorado. I also love to travel, so combining travelling with writing is truly a dream of mine, and now I plan to share it. Taking scenic pictures is also a hobby of mine, so I hope Everywhere and I become a natural fit.
