Ajantha - Tourists
The Ajantha caves date back to 3 A.D. and are said to depict the life and times of Buddha in the form of stories over a span of about 27 caves.
The caves are more popularly known for the frescos.
The colourful tourists against the stone backdrop made for a wonderful contrast.

As you can see there is Buddha in every nook and corner. But a lot of restoration work is in progress too

Ajantha Mahanirvana
The Ajantha caves date back to 3 A.D. and are said to depict the life and times of Buddha in the form of stories over a span of about 27 caves. The caves are more popularly known for the frescos but there is a fair amount of architecture as well.
The lady had just entered the frame and I think her silhouette provides a sense of scale to the whole frame..
This is the statue where Buddha is depicted as to have attained Mahanirvana.

The caves are more popularly known for the frescos but there is a fair amount of architecture as well. This is the last one and the lighting on the day had a great effect.
Its the same cave where one one side the statue of Buddha sleeping is present.
