The Grand Hotel Huis Ter Duin, in Noordwijk Aan Zee, the Netherlands, is situated on the coastline with miles of sandy dunes in either direction and the North Sea spread out as far as the eye can see. Liquid Sky is a delightfully hallucinogenic structure that defies the surrounding urban landscape from the courtyard of the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in Long Island City. Housed in a former New York City public school (hence the P.S.) the art center makes creative use of its grounds with a series of highly anticipated outdoor summer parties called Warm Up.

The oldest lake in Europe and the deepest lake in the Balkans, Lake Ohrid is an impossible pool of mist lapping at a bowl of mountains. The roads that wind around it offer spectacular views of the basin and foggy bus windows only add to the dreamy quality of the early-morning view.
