New Life on the Waterfront

New Life on the Waterfront

The waterfront in Buffalo, NY has been brought back to life. For decades, politicians have promised to beautify the waterfront and make it an attraction, and now they finally have. The waterfront has been transformed and brought back in time to the days of the Erie Canal. Remnants of the original canal act as an outdoor museum, next to the redeveloped Commercial Slip from the canal. There's a naval museum, where visitors climb aboard huge navy ships and submarines. Further down the waterfront are two restaurants, Shanghai Red's and the Hatch. The new waterfront opened in July 2008.

A Sunset with Friends

A Sunset with Friends

I took this the last night of our vacation to San Diego, California, my first trip (and only) to the west coast. It was a memorable experience watching the sunset with two of my best friends, sipping wine and reminiscing about a great trip. It was the perfect way to end our time in California.

Perfect Blue Water

Perfect Blue Water

The south of France is simply beautiful. Words cannot describe seeing and swimming in perfectly clear blue water. The landscape seems - apart from the sailboats - unmarred by humans and left to prosper in its natural, majestic state.

This is the breathtaking view of one of the many gardens at Chenonceau from on of the castle's windows.

Chateau de Chenonceau

Chateau de Chenonceau

This castle was easily my favorite of the ones I visited on my trip to France. Both inside and out, it is gorgeous. Part of the castle is over the Cher's river bank. On the grounds are lush gardens and even a hedge maze.

Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo was simply breathtaking. This lavish, sort of ridiculously wealthy community stunned me with just how beautiful it was. From the fountains to the cars a young boy fantasizes about, this community was jaw-dropping in its scale. Even the taxis and cement truck were made by Mercedes!

The Commons

The Commons

Christmas time in the Commons of Ithaca, NY is a great time. The district is festively decorated and shoppers come out to the quirky stores hoping for a few good deals. It's one of the reasons why I love my college town, Ithaca.

Eiffel Tower

Eiffel Tower

Going to see the Eiffel Tower in Paris was a dream come true. Standing in front of the enormous structure, I felt so small, almost insignificant. Still, it is easy to appreciate the beauty and brilliance of this architectural wonder. It was easily one of the highlights of my trip to France.
