Mimi’s travelogue

Apple Pan

The Apple Pan has some of the best fast food to offer. They have been making amazing hamburgers for over half a century.

Boqueria

The Boqueria market (also known as Mercat de San Josep) just off Las Ramblas, is one of the most famous markets in Barcelona Spain. It is a wonderful mix of goods, voices, scents that absolutely deserve a visit.

Hotel Vitale

HOTEL VITALE

Embarcadero, San Francisco

Italian for "vitality," Hotel Vitale, is surrounded by light and water in the midst of San Francisco's bayside Embarcadero renaissance. This new landmark building overlooks the waterfront and is located across from the historic Ferry Building Marketplace at the corner of Mission Street and The Embarcadero in San Francisco.

Cliffhouse

The Cliff House is the fourth incarnation of a building that was originally built in 1863. It has been destroyed twice by fire and in its history presidents and prominent families have been guests there.

Hagiwara Tea Garden

This Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco is named for Makato Hagiwara, the garden's original caretaker. Hagiwara is, incidentally, generally recognized as the inventor of the fortune cookie.

Lombard Street

One of San Francisco's most recognizable streets, it's almost cliché to come here during a visit to the city, but the novelty of such an unusual street is inarguably fun. Most locals never come here, but visitors line up for a block or two west of Hyde Street to drive down the eight or so bends at five miles per hour, while others taking photographs line the sidewalk staircases on either side.
