Most shouldered on, but intense sun made this tree’s ample shade one of this January day’s most popular attractions at Monte Albán. The crowd will likely grow as the year moves into heat-soaked months of early summer. Locals say it’s been getting hotter with every passing year and blame el cambio climatico, or climate change. Recommendation: Bring a parasol—or at least a hat.
