Scallops at the Floating Market
In Ratchaburi Province, outside Bangkok waits one of Thailands most famous attractions. The Traditional Floating Market consists of food hawkers preparing scrumptious delectables like this one, scallops grilled in-shell. The hawkers sit in small junks alongside a quaint restored dock and offer their treats right from the boat!

Monuments like this one in Calcutta represent India's colonial history. Britain built the Victoria Memorial in the name of her longest-reigning monarch, leaving both an architectural masterpiece and a reminder of hundreds of years of colonial rule.

Udaipur Sunset
In Udaipur, this lake provides the lifeblood and focal point of the community. A family on the edge of something close to paradise watches as the sun slowly sets over this land. India's water supply is in danger, though, and scenes like this one over Udaipur Lake are becoming more scarce.

The Mighty Mekong
These water buffalo, originally a wild indigenous Southeast Asian species, have over the years been domesticated in places like Si Pan Don, Laos. Dubbed "Four Thousand Islands," this area of southern Laos sees few tourists and life moves about as slow as the meandering Mekong River that hosts these now peaceful creatures.

Thaipusam Festival Preparation
Every year Malaysia is home to the Thaipusam Festival. Now banned in Tamil Nadu, India where it originated, this three-day Hindu festival involves incredible physical feats performed by zealouts who have induced a painlessness through religious ecstasy. The trance keeps these men in a mental state where they are able to pierce their skin and not only withstand the pain, but also subside blood flow.

Temple Relief
This relief is illuminated by a ray of sun in the Sister Temple in Gwalior. In Madhya Pradesh of central northern India, like many parts of the country, the temple architecture can date back thousands of years.
