Casino, Asbury Park
I grew up on the Jersey Shore and I have watched the slow decay of Asbury Park, which was once a great Jersey Shore city. I shot this on my last trip home in the summer of 2007. The Casino is now just a skeleton of what it once was 30 years ago.

One of Texas' leading editorial photographers, Matthew Mahon, was actually raised in urban Newark, NJ. Upon graduating from high school Mahon went to live with his aunt in South Central Los Angeles where he became infatuated with the "ghetto street life" and joined in with the infamous street gang, the Crips. A motorcycle crash in 1998 changed Mahon's life. He abandoned the street life and focused on his edgy style of photography. Mahon's work has appeared in TIME, WIRED and ESPN magazines
