Sarajevo's famous pigeon square in Old Town. We were in the city during Ramadan. At dusk each night the muezzin's call to prayer filled the air and the many minarets were lighted at once, twinkling against the hillsides.
The narrow streets and alleyways of Sarajevo crisscross the steep hills that surround the city. It's easy to get lost, but it's also great to wander aimlessly. In the autumn, roses were everywhere, people obviously taking great pride in their small gardens.
