Each year, in the height of the summer, a network of social groups organise a free rock festival in a forest just outside of Istanbul. With only a budget of 5000 dollar it is easily visited by fifty thousand people, all there to enjoy an unique 3-day festival, with free entry and camping-space, reasonable prices for drinks and food, over 30 popular and upcoming rock-bands from Turkey and a great ambience.
Located in the Sea of Marmara an hour's ferry ride from Istanbul, Princes Island is free of motorized traffic. Horse-drawn buggies are used to haul construction materials and tourists alike.

Pamukkale translates to "cotton clouds" and is a busy tourist attraction in Turkey. These unique calcium terraces or travertines is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
